The Cowboys got thumped by the Knights on Saturday, and then they took another beating in the polls on Sunday.
After taking a 45-3 loss to UCF, Oklahoma State fell nine spots from No. 15 in the AP Poll to No. 24. The Cowboys fell from 17th in the Coaches Poll all the way down to 25th. Expect a similar drop in the College Football Playoff rankings when they come out Tuesday night.
The Cowboys weren’t the only Big 12 team. Kansas fell from 19th all the way out of the AP Poll after its 16-13 loss to unranked Texas Tech.
Elsewhere in the league, Texas stood pat at No. 7 in the AP after defeating TCU 29-26. The Longhorns are now alone in first place in conference. The Sooners took out all of their Bedlam frustrations on the Mountaineers. OU blew out West Virginia 59-20 in Norman and climbed three spots to No. 14. Kansas State remained at No. 23 from last week despite walloping Baylor 59-25.
