St. John’s transfer guard AJ Storr announced on Thursday that he has committed to Wisconsin over Oklahoma State and other suitors, leaving the Cowboys for a second time in three years on the outside looking in of his recruitment. Storr, a top-100 recruit in the 2022 cycle, committed to St. John’s in 2021 over OSU and myriad other schools. He entered the transfer portal after one season.
Storr hit the open market earlier this year after the school fired coach Mike Anderson and hired away Rick Pitino from Iona. OSU was among the many (many!) schools who reportedly gave him a chase along with Gonzaga, Creighton, Florida, Memphis and others after averaging 21.1 minutes, 8.8 points and 1.9 rebounds per game last season for the Red Storm.
OSU despite Storr’s declination of its offer appears to be very involved with a number of other targets in the transfer portal of late including UNT star Tylor Perry, the reigning Conference USA Player of the Year. ECU transfer Javon Small is also a consideration and expected to visit campus this week.
